Research Shop: Wedding Party Gift Boxes
A small fabrication project—requirements, tolerances, iteration, and finish—applied to something personal.
This was a fun project where I got to use my day-to-day experimental skills in the shop to design and make a few gifts for my wedding party. I designed a custom wedding clip and laser cut and polished it out of brass. I design a pair of dress socks. And I laser cut some gift boxes with a design and each of the wedding party’s names on them. I designed them all around the swirl pattern of a B-mode the elusive signal I search for in the CMB. In the end it made a really special touch for my wedding and I had a lot of fun putting a little bit of me into the gifts.
